At the Centre for Academic Practice, we are keen to work closely with you, as ADTs, in support of teaching development, innovative practice and quality enhancement in your respective schools. We are also eager to work with other colleagues who have management responsibility for teaching in schools and departments.
For newly appointed ADTs we offer a one-to-one briefing, which gives you an opportunity to discuss our provision and have an initial exploration as to how any local needs can be met. There will also be an opportunity to meet other Centre for Academic Practice colleagues, including the Quality Enhancement Officer and E-learning Officer linked to your school. If you would like to arrange a briefing please contact the Director of the Centre for Academic Practice.
The Centre for Academic Practice has a broad remit including: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provision for schools/departments; accredited courses such as the Post Gradaute Certificate in Academic Practice for newly appointed colleagues undertaking academic probation; management of University provision for two distinct types of Teaching Awards; responsibilities for guidance and assessment on the teaching practice element of Promotion to Senior Lecturer; a range of Technology Enhanced Learning provision (including workshops, drop-in advice, the E-learning blog); an active role in the processing, reporting and follow-up of issues emerging from the National Student Survey (NSS); and the undertaking of teaching-related project-based work.
