Research Staff Forum
The Loughborough University Research Staff Forum is open to all Research Staff from across campus. This bi-monthly event is a chance for research staff to meet, network and learn about different topics of particular interest to researchers. The forum is part of the drive towards building a community for research staff at the University, and is an opportunity for research staff to input into developments such as the annual Research Staff Conference and Concordat Implementation Plan. Making online questionnaires with Bristol Online Survey (BOS)
If you need to do a web based survey or online questionnaire, the University has a licence to use the Bristol Online Survey system, otherwise known as BOS. It's used by universities around the UK to run large-scale surveys such as CROS (see below), PRES and PTES, and is well-supported both at Bristol and here in Loughborough.
We recommend you have a look at the BOS Knowledgbase but rest assured, when you apply for an account, you'll receive useful information to get you started. There is more information on the e-learning blog and a series of short FAQ screencasts on Learn.

CROS
The next Careers in Research Online Survey will run in April 2009, all research staff will be invited to attend. The results from the last CROS survery are available below.

Research Office - The research office can provide you with information and advice regarding research funding. The website contains links to funding sources and information about costing and pricing. It also contact details for the pre-award team who deal with funding applications, and the post-award team, who deal with the running of research projects.
Community of Science Research Databases - search for funding, collaborators, conferences and special issues, upload your own profile.
Enterprise office - Provides support with commercialisation of research and deals with intellectual property around research.
