Loughborough rises to 16th in The Times Good University Guide

Loughborough has consolidated its position as one of the country’s leading higher education institutions, rising to 16th place in The Times Good University Guide 2013, published yesterday (14 June).

The Guide, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, is compiled using eight measures of importance to the undergraduate experience, including the views of recent undergraduates, leading academics’ verdicts on the quality of research and the success rates of graduates in the employment market.

In the individual subject tables Loughborough topped the league in three subject areas – Building, Librarianship and Information Management, and Sports Science.  Only Oxford and Cambridge have more top-ranked subject areas.

Loughborough has a further 11 subjects ranked in the top ten of their tables.

Professor Shirley Pearce, Vice Chancellor of Loughborough University, said: “I am delighted that Loughborough has risen to 16th in the latest Times Guide and that we are ranked behind only Oxbridge in terms of top placings in the subject tables.

“Loughborough’s continued successful performances in national league tables are the consequence of sustained commitment to excellence across everything we do at the University.”
