Art and design shows promise to impress

The redesigned sewing machine can be viewed at the Design School Degree Show.

An unmissable display of work by Loughborough University’s final year artists and designers opens to the public this weekend.

The Loughborough Design School degree show, featuring innovative products and prototypes created by more than 100 students opens on Friday June 15.  Highlights to look out for include the Urb, a modern and stylish beehive; a new twist on the hair dryer; and an intuitive redesign of the sewing machine.

Professor Tracy Bhamra, Dean of the Design school said: “This is a truly fantastic event, celebrating the work of all our BA Industrial Design and Technology and BSc Product Design and Technology students.  It offers a real glimpse into the products of the future.”
