Experts in low carbon vehicle technologies from both Korea and the UK shared their knowledge during a workshop at Loughborough University this week.

The UK-Korea Green Vehicle Workshop was held at Loughborough University on Monday (March 14).

Academics and industry leaders from Korea, all experts in the field of low carbon vehicles, spoke at the event, alongside their British counterparts.

Korean organisations represented at the workshop included South Korea's largest automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motors as well as national institutes such as the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH).

British speakers included Professor Richard Stobart, who is Ford Chair of Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University, and John Frodsham, director of the Transport Innovation Network (iNet).

The workshop offered delegates the chance to learn about the latest research developments in the areas of clean combustion, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and fuel cell technologies, in addition to their practical application in industry.

The workshop was attached to the SERT2011 event (Sustainable, Efficient, Road Transport) which was taking place at Henry Ford College, Loughborough, on the following three days.
