The event will be played at the University’s superb Tennis Centre which provides eight high quality indoor acrylic hard courts that will be used for the tournament.

The tournament reaches its climax on the weekend of 12 - 13 November. Tickets are available on the door and will cost £3 with under 16’s having free admission. The matches will start at 11am on both days.

The Loughborough tournament will consist of an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger €42,500 for the men and a $10,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) Pro Circuit for the women.

The Men’s event has a strong entry list headed by Italian Flavio Cipolla, who is currently enjoying a career high world ranking of 80. Cipolla shot to fame in May after beating the former world number one, Andy Roddick, in the Madrid Open.

Other players to watch out for are Andreas Beck from Germany, who was ranked 33 in the world in 2009. British number 2 James Ward, who has enjoyed a successful 2011, including a semi-final appearance at the high profile Queens event in the warm up to Wimbledon.

The Women’s event is headed up by Britain’s Tara Moore. In the last two weeks the 19 year old has reached the semi-final of a $25k event in Glasgow, and as a wild card at the $75k event in Barnstaple last week beat 136th ranked Kathrin Woerle in the first round.

Chris Earle, Director of Sport at Loughborough University, said:

“I am delighted that the AEGON GB Pro Series is returning to Loughborough University, after a successful inaugural event was held last year. Bringing international tennis to the University is a significant addition to our calendar of events. I hope that the players and spectators enjoy the event and their time spent in Loughborough.”

AEGON GB Pro Series events take place all over the UK; all of which attract a strong field of national and international players.

It is also a breeding ground for Britain’s best young players, including Team AEGON and AEGON FutureStars, to learn their trade against strong and often experienced international opposition.
