Expo to showcase University’s materials research expertise

A special Expo showcasing the breadth of materials research taking place across Loughborough University will be held at the campus in September.

Organised by the University’s Materials Research School, the event will focus on ‘Materials for energy applications’ and will be attended by industry experts, academics and research staff.  It will feature several keynote speakers from Loughborough, as well as a presentation by Dr Emma Farndon from the global clean power systems company and University spin out, Intelligent Energy.  There will also be an extensive poster exhibition highlighting recent developments in materials research at Loughborough.

The Expo takes place on Thursday, September 22 from 9.30am until 4pm at the University’s Sir Denis Rooke Building.  It will be officially opened by Loughborough’s Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, Professor Ken Parsons.

“This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the exciting work taking place at Loughborough and to make contacts for research collaboration or commercial exploitation in materials for energy applications,” said Professor Rachel Thomson, Director of the Materials Research School.

Anyone wanting to attend the free event should email mrs@lboro.ac.uk by Wednesday 14 September.
