Loughborough University celebrates launch of The School of the Arts

Loughborough University today (2 August) celebrates the official launch of The School of the Arts, a newly-named school that consolidates the research and teaching strengths in art and design at Loughborough.

Established from Loughborough University School of Art and Design (LUSAD), The School of the Arts provides exceptional teaching, research supervision and unique facilities for students across a wide range of art and design subjects, and is known for its pioneering arts research.

Marsha Meskimmon, Director of The School of the Arts, said: “I am delighted to announce the new School, a landmark event in the long and proud history of art and design at the University.

“The achievements of our staff, students and graduate alumni demonstrate the important role in the creative industries and intellectual life of the country that the arts at Loughborough continue to play in the 21st Century.”

The School of the Arts continues to offer all the courses previously provided by LUSAD, adding to that an expanding suite of Masters programmes and PhD supervision.
