Volunteers needed for study into children’s appetite and food preferences

Loughborough University researchers are looking for volunteers to take part in a new study focusing on children’s appetite and food preferences.

Led by the Department of Human Sciences, the project will explore how children’s food preferences develop.

Mothers and female guardians of children aged three to four years old are needed to take part in the study. Volunteers would be required to attend a one-off session at the department with their child, lasting around 45 minutes. During this time they will both eat lunch, complete a few questionnaires, and play games. Participants will be paid £25.

Dr Claire Farrow, who is leading the project said: “This a very exciting project which we hope will add to our understanding of how children’s early food preferences and food choices develop.”

If you are interested in taking part in the study please contact Dr Farrow, c.v.farrow@lboro.ac.uk, or Laura Houldcroft, laurahouldie@aol.com, alternatively call 01509 228487.

Volunteers who took part in this study over the summer are not able to take part in this phase of the research.
