University welcomes kids on campus this summer

Loughborough University’s popular summer sports camps get underway this month providing children with a range of exciting great value activities during the school holidays.

Children aged from five to 14 are able to access up to four weeks of activity through the University’s multi-sport camps, as well as sport-specific training at five week-long football, rugby and cricket camps.

Now in their third year, the multi-sport camps provide a wide range of activities for children in three different age groups; Team Nike (5-7 yrs), Team Hercules (8-10 yrs) and Team Zeus (11-14yrs). All sessions are delivered in the University’s world class sports facilities and are tailored to each age group, including activities such as swimming, football, basketball, trampolining, dodge ball, and rounders.

Multi-sport camps run from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday in the weeks commencing 21 and 28 July and 4 and 11 August. Camps cost £125 per week with discounts when more than one child is enrolled. Busy Bees and Accor Childcare Vouchers are accepted as payment. The camps are registered with Ofsted and a welfare officer is present at all sessions.

Sport specific camps in football, cricket and rugby allow both boys and girls to focus on their chosen sport and learn, improve and perfect their skills. Discounts are offered for Wild Card holders.

Football camps are provided for children aged five and over and are scheduled for three consecutive weeks during the summer (weeks commencing 4, 11 and 18 August). Camps for players aged eight and above run from 10am to 5pm each day and cost just £70 for the week, while shorter sessions for under-eights are offered from 10am to 12pm for just £31.

The five-day cricket camp runs from 4-8 August from 10am to 3pm and costs just £70 for the week for players aged eight to 16.

The week-long rugby course is offered from 28 July to 1 August from 9am to 1pm for children aged eight to 14 years, costing just £38.
