University offers insight into its postgraduate opportunities

Anyone interested in postgraduate study is being invited to gain an insight into the opportunities available at Loughborough University at its first ever postgraduate open day.

The event, on Wednesday 14 March from 2pm to 8pm, will provide prospective postgraduate students and those seeking post experience courses with a chance to find out more about the programmes, research opportunities and study options open to them.

A series of presentations will be given throughout the day in the Henry Ford College, at the west end of the campus, where visitors can learn more about a variety of topics, including how to finance their studies and life as a postgraduate student at Loughborough.

They will also be able to look around the University and its facilities, and meet current students and staff.

John Harper, director of the University’s Graduate School, says students look to continue their education after graduation for a variety of reasons. “For some, having a postgraduate degree is crucial for their chosen career; others feel that it will give them a competitive edge in the job market. Some people come back to university simply because they enjoy studying and want to learn more,” says John.

“Whatever your reason for wanting to undertake postgraduate study, I’m sure Loughborough will have something to offer.”

Booking for the open day is optional, but registering in advance will allow University staff to find out what attendees hope to gain from the event, and enable them to make the day as useful as possible.
