Cricketer bowls ClubEasy over!

Student accommodation specialists ClubEasy.com are helping Loughborough student cricketer Ruel Brathwaite on his way to achieving his sporting dreams.

The company, which owns and manages several properties in the Loughborough area, is supporting the Loughborough University Development Trust with a three-year sports scholarship for Ruel.

Loughborough sports scholarships help talented students realise their sporting potential. Under the scheme students benefit from financial awards, free access to sports science and medicine support, flexible degree programmes and preferential access to a range of University facilities.

Ruel (aged 20) is currently one of the most talented young cricketers in the country. A fast bowler, he has represented Barbados at U15 and U19 levels, and played for the full Barbados team against the West Indies. This summer he has been netting with the West Indies ‘A’ team on their tour of England, and playing with Surrey. He was also part of the Loughborough University Cricket Centre of Excellence squad, who won the British Universities Championship.

Ruel, who has just started the second year of his Civil Engineering degree, is delighted that CubEasy.com are assisting him in furthering his cricket. “My ambition is to play for the West Indies and to help them return to the top of the world game,” he said. “This support from ClubEasy will help me on the way to achieving my goal, I’m sure!”

Jason Hayes, chairman of ClubEasy.com, said: “We are delighted and proud to be able to help such an impressive young talent. We are very busy on the accommodation scene in Loughborough and believe in supporting the students wherever we can. Following on from our sponsorship of rugby at Loughborough, we hope that this support for a three year sports scholarship will be the first of many.”
