Loughborough shortlisted for THES Best Student Experience award

Loughborough University has been shortlisted for the prestigious Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) award for the UK’s Best Student Experience.

Over 7,000 students were polled for the highly contested award. They were asked to rate various aspects of the University, including the courses, facilities, atmosphere and social life.

The winner will be announced at an awards dinner on 15 November, at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Loughborough’s nomination for the award follows on from its excellent performance in this year’s National Student Survey, published in August.

Nine out of Loughborough’s 23 departments were rated top in their subject area, and overall the University was ranked in the top five universities among full-time students.

When data from all the universities that took part in the 2005 survey are combined with the 2006 results, Loughborough comes first as the favourite university in the country among full-time students.

Loughborough was also ranked 6th in this year’s Times Good University Guide, confirming it as one of the country’s leading higher education institutions. The highly-regarded Times guide is based upon nine measures of quality – student satisfaction, research assessment, entry standards, student/staff ratio, library/computing spend, facilities spend, degree classifications, graduate prospects, and completion rates..
