Degree show provides an insight into the designs of tomorrow

Businesses and members of the public are being invited to a foretaste of the future of design at this year’s Loughborough University Industrial Design and Technology Degree Show.

Taking place from Saturday 11 to Tuesday 14 June, the Degree Show will feature hundreds of working prototypes, models and graphics of innovative ideas, produced by students who are graduating from one of the best product design courses in the UK.

Over 120 students will be exhibiting their final year projects, many of which have been developed in collaboration with companies such as Boots Healthcare, Diageo, Motorola, Holophane Lighting and Smiths Medical International.

Designs on display this year will include:

Paul Wormald, a lecturer in the Department of Design and Technology, says the show will provide businesses and members of the public with a fascinating insight into both design and the designers of the future. “We are proud of what our graduates are capable of, and are looking forward to an exciting event,” comments Paul.

Members of the public and industry are welcome to visit the Degree Show, which will take place in the Sir Denis Rooke building, in the Holywell Park area of the University campus. The event is open from 10am to 5pm. Admission is free and advance booking is not required.
