Information for students
The Storer, Burleigh, Herrick, Kingfisher and Ashby Road Estate communities
Information for students living in the Storer, Burleigh, Herrick, Kingfisher and Ashby Road Estates communities.
- These areas of town have a high concentration of student let properties but they are also home to a number of the permanent residents of Loughborough and each year they see students come and go.
- The University has appointed Community Wardens to liaise with students and permanent residents in these areas.
- These Wardens are available to help with any student related residential matter, such as parking problems, house sharing difficulties, difficult landlords or noisy neighbours.
- They are also available to support any student with worries of any kind, be they academic, financial or personal.
- The Wardens also have a disciplinary role and are able to impose penalties such as fines in cases of bad behaviour etc, in much the same way as a Hall Warden.
- They are NOT an emergency service. If there is an incident late at night, or a problem involving violence, vandalism etc, this should be reported to the Police or University Security and they will respond as quickly as possible. The wardens will be informed and will make a follow up visit, probably the next day.
- For non-emergency matters you can contact the wardens by telephone or email.
- The Wardens will contact you by email and provide you with all the information you need to keep in touch.
- Further information is also available from http://storer.lboro.ac.uk
Getting Involved
- There are seats on University Council for off-campus students, and there is a Town Students Federation. For more information about these get in touch with the Student Union.
- These areas also have Residents' Groups. Students are residents too and all are welcome to attend meetings. Further information is available from your Community Warden.
