Graduate School Studentships and Glendonbrook Doctoral Fellowships

Loughborough University Graduate School is delighted to offer up to 50 fully funded Graduate School studentships to students across all of the University’s schools.

In addition, we are offering two Glendonbrook Doctoral Fellowships for outstanding candidates. These awards, funded through the generosity of Lord Glendonbrook, will be made on the same basis as the Graduate School studentships, and may be held in any of the University’s schools.

Applications are now invited from exceptionally well qualified students who want to embark on a full-time research degree programme commencing in Autumn Term 2012.

Internationally renowned for its research excellence, the University has a vibrant research student community of around 1200 students supported by a £6 million annual investment. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) every department was found to be undertaking research that is internationally recognised, with many regarded as ‘world leading’. Comfortably ranked in the top 20 of all major university league tables, the University was awarded The Sunday Times University of the Year 2008-2009 and was voted The Times Higher Education ‘Best Student Experience’ for four years running.

As a research student you will become involved in leading edge research, and provided with research skills training and support from internationally recognised academics.

Each studentship is valued at £13,590 (or any higher figure subsequently determined by EPSRC for its research studentships for 2012-13) plus tuition fees at the UK/EU rate. Applicants must be eligible to pay tuition fees at UK/EU rates.

Prior to making an application please contact the relevant department. A full list of available subject areas and contact details (for information and guidance) is shown below.

To make an application please use our online application form. Please ensure that you include the reference GSS12.

The closing date for applications is the 31 October 2011.
