Campus watch
Campus Watch echoes the principles of Neighbourhood Watch. It is quite simply a vehicle to raise awareness of the types of crime occurring in and around the campus and to develop crime prevention initiatives to try and prevent them. It also provides a regular means of communication between the participating groups, namely staff, students, the University security section and the police.
The Campus Watch schemes aim to create an environment in which all sections of the campus community can pursue their lives and interests safely, free from victimisation and the fear of crime
The University has both staff and student Campus Watch schemes. Those groups meet regularly to discuss a range of issues relating to crime prevention and personal safety.
