Corporate Services

Corporate Services is a business support and operational section within Facilities Management. Corporate Services manages policy creation, support and monitoring/ audit for the department, and will assist with the implementation of systems and processes. The section is also responsible for Security across campus and also carries out change and qualitative projects across the department.  The team is led by Kevin Walmsley.

Health and Safety - The FM Health, Safety and Risk Manager is responsible for the embodiment of a Health Safety culture and for monitoring the department’s legislative, University and departmental health and safety policy compliance.

Security - The Security Sections aim is as far as is possible, to ensure the welfare and safety of students, staff, visitors and to protect University property. The Security building is situated at the main Epinal Way entrance to the University. The Section provides assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The reception desk is open from 9.15 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9.15 a.m. until 4:30 on Fridays.

Outside of these hours assistance may be obtained from the Security Control Room. This may be achieved by either attending in person or via the telephone numbers on found at the above link.

Sustainability - These pages are intended to provide information, guidance and awareness to enable individuals to play their part and help the University in its efforts towards environmental sustainability.

Quality Assurance - is responsible for the operation, development and maintenance of quality management systems. The section promotes and audits the use of quality systems within the department. This role is carried out by the Corporate Services Manager ext 222123.

Human Resources - provides an administrative service on personnel matters and manages the training database and sickness records. Christine Sturgess is the HR Coordinator ext 228088.
