Loughborough UTC Welcomes First CDT Students
The Loughborough/Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre would like to welcome the first cohort of students on the EPSRC CDT in Gas Turbine Aerodynamics after successfully completing their MRes year at Cambridge.
The MRes year was the first phase of a 4 year programme which provided a platform to the PhD phase in years 2 to 4, where students will now undertake an industrially-focused PhD project. The 3 year industrially-focused PhD project at Loughborough University is based within the Rolls-Royce Technology Centre (UTC). The PhD projects will be developed during their first year which will be relevant to current and future technologies being developed by Rolls-Royce.
Loughborough has a proven track record of research excellence in gas turbine aerodynamics, one of the three major components of turbomachinery (compressor, combustor and turbine). Our CDT students will hugely benefit from the network of experts and the portfolio of skills that they have built up at the heart of the UTC.
