What is the Engineering YES competition?

Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme is a competition for UK-based post-graduates students and post-doctoral researchers to present a business plan for an imaginary start-up company to a group of shrewd investors and industry experts.

Participants learn the techniques of how to go about planning a new business venture, meet local entrepreneurs and business leaders who have done it for real and have a lot of fun at the same time! There are also over £2000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs.

The competition is free to enter for participants*, runs over three days and includes three nights full board hotel accommodation. The competition is partly funded by sponsorship and by EPSRC enterprise and entrepreneurship Roberts funding, provided to Universities for researchers.

*Note: The actual cost of participating in this event is £750 per person. This should be available from PGR enterprise training budgets within your institution. Teams and individuals wishing to enter should liaise with their own Institution training staff to secure funding as well as contacting us with expressions of interest.
