Jiang is a Research Associate within the Applied Photovoltaic (APV) group in the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST) since 2012 and working on a number of projects funded by UK, EU and industry. Before that, Jiang studied for a PhD in Modelling long-term energy yield of photovoltaic devices (2007- 2012), which was funded by the EC FP6 PERFORMANCE project, in the same group. He became the team leader of PV reliability group within APV since 2014. Jiang is the R-CI of an industry sponsored project ‘DTF Framework Project’ (2015). He is also the R-CI of ‘Photovoltaic modules life time forecast and evaluation’ project (SOLAR-TRAIN, 2016-2020) under EU H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Networks.

Jiang's main research interests are:

  • Modelling PV device and material degradation.
  • Lifetime energy yield prediction including balance of system.
  • Environmental stresses and field experiences.
  • Manufacturing quality on PV module reliability and energy generation.
  • Accelerated testing and device reliability.
  • PV device durability on grid integration.
