Dr Dan Zhou is a postdoctoral Research Associate in the Centre of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology. Before joining Loughborough, she held a PhD (Warwick, 2008-2012), MSc and BEng (Shandong, 2001-2008).

In Loughborough, she works on the EPSRC project ‘i-STUTE’ (interdisciplinary centre for Storage, Transformation and Upgrading of Thermal Energy). A third of the industrial process heat falls within the temperature range of 50-200 °C, which, if recovered and stored effectively, can be recycled for other heating purposes. Her research mainly focuses on the industrial process heat recovery by latent heat and/or thermochemical heat storage. The objective is to achieve the optimal heat storage approach/configuration and more efficient materials/system design.
