New CREST Research Demonstrates Value of Integrated Modelling to Policy Makers
7 January 2016

Recent research by CREST’s Philip Leicester and Paul Rowley has shown how an integrated approach to system modelling can support PV policy development in the UK. The work was initiated during Philip’s recently completed PhD and subsequently developed via two EPSRC projects (WISE-PV and PV2025). The results were used as the basis for input from CREST for DECC’s recent consultation process on changes to the UK FiT system. One key result of the study shows that targeted investment in PV can result in significant reductions in fuel poverty in deprived areas across the country.

The work has been published in the IET’s Renewable Power Generation Journal, and can be downloaded here: Multi-domain Analysis of Photovoltaic Impacts via Integrated Spatial & Probabilistic Modelling
