About this event

Ruth Parry and I are working on how doctors respond to patients’ requests for life-expectancy estimates in hospice care. This is based on a collection of cases where patients with terminal conditions ask a doctor about how long they are likely to live. The data comes from video-recorded consultations in a hospice. The doctors are consultants in palliative medicine. For this data session we will focus one case where a patient requests a life-expectancy estimate. We are especially interested in the doctor’s practices for responding.
