CCFR have a wealth of experience and expertise in conducting evaluation resaearch, designed to inform the development of innovations, policy and practice across children's social care and improve the quality of services. CCFR has a unique combination of expertise in undertaking impact, process and economic evaluations. CCFR offers particular capability in estimating unit costs, carrying out value for money studies, cost effectivenss research and economic evaluations and incorprating these with process and impact elements of evaluation.

CCFR have also recently been appointed by the Department for Education as an evaluation partner for the Children's Social Care Innovation Programme. The programme seeks to support the development, testing and sharing of effective ways of supporting children who need help from children's social care services. CCFR's role is to undertake indepedent and robust evaluations of some of the projects that are introduced by the programme.
