Background

Mike is a contract researcher and has worked with CCFR for a number of years on various projects. Mike has recently developed the Unit Cost Database as part of the Cost Calculator project. His other work has focused on the information requirements of children’s social services and ways of helping social work practitioners to record, file and retrieve information on the children and families who are their clients.

Mike has previously worked on the following projects:

• Foster Care Survey: A short feasibility study
  
• Helping local authorities make better use of information on children in need: Data Analysis Network for Children's Services
  
• Information outputs for children’s services
  

Research interests

Human rights, refugees, displaced people, marginal urban communities, disability and health promotion.

Current projects

• Development of definitions of local authority services and guidance for the new Children in Need census
