Graduating with a first class honours in Sociology and Criminology, Lisa has worked as a researcher in the department since 2000 and was involved in the formation of CCFR in 2001. Since then she has undertaken a body of research funded by the Department of Health and the Department for Children, Schools and Families to inform policy and practice. Lisa has predominantly worked on and now manages the Costs and Outcomes steam of research.

In 2005 Lisa was seconded to DCSF to work with the Looked After children Taskforce to disseminate research findings and produce a practice guide and resource pack for children’s services departments. Along with Harriet Ward and Jean Soper, Lisa has led the development of the Cost Calculator for Children’s Services.

Calculating unit costs and exploring the cost effectiveness of services provided to vulnerable children. The use of cost effectives data to inform commissioning decisions, policy and practice, at a national and local level.

Understanding the cost effectives of recruitment, training and support provided to foster carers. Cost comparisons between different types of foster care and different foster care providers.
