The Centre for Child and Family Research (CCFR) was established in 2002 and co-founded by Professor Harriet Ward.
- To carry out high quality research that informs, influences and supports policy and practice for children, young people, adults, families and communities.
- Devise a programme of research that investigates issues relevant to current social policy that will inform practice.
- Develop a robust framework for the governance of research activities.
- Adopt a critical approach to the applicability of different methodologies to the conduct of research.
- Advance the research programme, incorporating different perspectives and a wide contextual background and draw on the wealth of related expertise at Loughborough.
- Develop relationships with other universities.
