Professional/academic background
Obtained a PhD in Stereolithography and Investment Casting from Nottingham University, following a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. Became a Senior Research Fellow before taking up a Lectureship at Loughborough University in 2001. Subsequently became Head of the Research Group in 2004 and was awarded a Personal Chair as Professor of Innovative Manufacturing in 2007. In 2011, he became Director of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Additive Manufacturing.
