Cycle-a-thon set to raise money for charity

The fundraiser is taking place outside Loughborough Students’ Union on 16 March from 8am – 8pm, with a goal set to cycle a total of 200 miles within 12 hours.

Staff, students and members of the community are invited to join in and cycle for as little or as long as possible, at any speed to help reach the target. There will be a few bikes running at one time.

Fundraising will take place during the day. Supporters are also encouraged to come along and cheer on those taking part. All money raised will be split between Sports Relief and Zambia IDEALS, a project which involves Loughborough students teaching basketball, netball and football in Zambia.

Stephanie Noble, Corporate Social Responsibility Intern, at Loughborough University said: “We are thrilled to be running such an exciting fundraiser and can’t wait to see everyone getting involved next week. Whether you have ten minutes to spare or want to cycle for an hour, no help is too little! The money being raised is for a truly fantastic cause."
