More than 75 postgraduate research studentships available at Loughborough

The studentships, which are available across a broad range of disciplines, provide funding to cover the full cost of tuition fees and a tax-free stipend of approximately £14,000 per annum towards living costs.

Loughborough is one of the country’s leading research universities. In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF), undertaken in 2014, Loughborough was ranked 14th in the UK for research intensity, and has been awarded seven prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prizesfor the quality of its research.

It has a vibrant, international research community, with around 1,000 students from 86 different countries undertaking research programmes and more than 700 research staff, many of whom are leaders in their field, pushing the boundaries of new knowledge and understanding.

Professor Andrew Dainty – the Director of Loughborough’s Graduate School, which provides professional development support for all the University’s research students – said: “This significant investment will enable us to support even more students as they set out on their research career path, and will expand still further our dynamic community of innovative researchers.

“Our research students work alongside some of the best academics in their field, whose pioneering research is driven by a desire to make a difference to the real-life issues being faced by industry, business and society. It’s a really exciting time to be pursuing a research career, and I’d recommend anyone considering it to look at the opportunities we have on offer at Loughborough.”
