Bounce-a-thon world record attempt at Loughborough University

Loughborough University will be the location for a world record attempt this week.

Graduate enterprise ambassador Becky White is hoping to hold the biggest ever ‘bounce-a-thon’ to break the world record for the most people bouncing simultaneously.

Becky and members of the University and local community set a new world record back in 2012 as part of the University’s Olympic Torch Relay celebrations, however this record has since been broken. To regain the record, more than 300 people will need to take part.

Becky, who is also the owner of onesixeight fitness, is hoping to have 500 people on board for the bounce-a-thon, which also coincides with National Fitness Day. So far, 200 people have signed up, with more expected to register on the day.

Staff, students and members of the local community are all welcome to take part in this family-friendly event.

The bounce-a-thon will take place from 1–2pm at Shirley Pearce Square on Wednesday 9 September.

Becky said: “I want to help as many people as possible to improve their fitness, health and mental wellbeing so what better way to do it than on trampolines?

“The event is going to be fantastic. I’m really looking forward to sharing the excitement of bouncing with so many people.”
