Loughborough University's Advanced Technology Innovation Centre welcomes new tenants

A key handover event to mark the opening of Loughborough University’s Advanced Technology Innovation Centre (ATIC) and welcome its new tenants took place last week.

ATIC is the latest addition to Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Parks (LUSEP).

The new build, which is now 62% occupied, offers flexible office and lab space for growing businesses and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. It has the backing of Leicestershire County Council, Charnwood Borough Council, and Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP). LUSEP’s expansion is also supported by the Leicester and Leicestershire City Deal, and is a key part of Leicestershire’s new Enterprise Zone bid.

Pro-Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, Tracy Bhamra, and Council leaders Nick Rushton and David Slater presented keys to new ATIC tenants Paul Ince of software design company Xeidos and Steve Metcalf on behalf of Nemaura Pharma.

Following the key handover event, Andrew Bowler, Manager of ATIC, took the visitors on a guided tour of the building to see first-hand its exciting potential as a base for external partners and also take a look at the range of fully serviced, high specification rent-a-desk areas, offices and studios available.

Pro-Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, Tracy Bhamra, said: “We’re delighted with the Advanced Technology Innovation Centre, it’s a great addition to the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Parks. We’re looking forward to our tenants settling into their new offices and see this as the first of many exciting ventures to come for LUSEP.”
