Loughborough Students’ Union voted top in the country
Loughborough Students’ Union was ranked top in the country this year in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards.
The awards are voted for exclusively by students at UK universities and celebrate higher education institutions’ excellence in nine categories – students' union, course and lecturers, accommodation, city life, facilities, clubs and societies, international, job prospects and university of the year.
As well as its top-placed ranking for the Students’ Union, Loughborough was rated second for the Union’s clubs and societies and for University’s facilities, and was third in the University of the Year poll.
Loughborough Students’ Union is one of the most successful in the country.
In 2013-14 Loughborough Rag, the fundraising section of the Students’ Union, raised a phenomenal £1,411,510.43 for local and national charities, confirming its status as the very best student fundraising organisation in the country.
Action, the Union’s volunteering organisation, also had an amazing year. Action has over 2,000 volunteers who clocked up around 28,000 of activity in 2013-14, helping young people, local groups and those with special needs, to name just a few.
And this year, Loughborough Students retained the British Universities and Colleges Sport championship trophy for the 34th consecutive year, beating the second placed university by more than 1,700 points.
