Managing the health and wellbeing of cancer carers
About this event
This free seminar and workshop is designed for carers, health professionals, charities and researchers to come together and discuss current issues related to the health and wellbeing of those caring for someone diagnosed with cancer, and to translate our research knowledge into policy and practice.
Lunch and refreshments are included. The programme is as follows:
9:30am: Registration and coffee
10am: Welcome and Introduction by Dr Fehmidah Munir
10:15am: Case studies - Understanding the health and wellbeing needs of carers.
Case studies of those caring for someone diagnosed with cancer will be presented and discussed in terms of their own arising health problems.
11:45am: Presenting research evidence: balancing caring responsibilities with significant others - presented by Dr Gianina-Ioana Postavaru
12:30pm: Buffet lunch
1:30pm: Workshop - what would help carers manage their health and wellbeing?
Small groups will be presented with evidence-based solutions for discussion and feedback.
3pm: Closing remarks
