The Associate Teaching Programme

The Associate Teaching Programme is a 30-credit postgraduate academic taught programme which leads to Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy is now open for applications for the academic year 2015-16. This programme is focused on supporting the professional development of technical, research and learning support staff. The programme includes two 15-credit modules: Introduction to Academic Practice and The Responsive Curriculum. The key foci of these modules are exploring ways of developing learning, how learning happens, curriculum development, assessment and enterprise. A final portfolio based on individual practice completes the programme. Delivery is via a blended approach – face-to-face study days launch the modules and then weekly learning is online combined with two half day workshops per module.

The Research Staff Mentoring Programme

The Research Staff Mentoring Programme has been successfully running for a number of years. Mentoring is a considered a vital part of the development provision offered to Research colleagues at Loughborough University. Key to this is the bespoke nature of mentoring, you get one-to-one time to discuss your own development or whatever is of a key concern to you. The scheme involves regular meetings, approximately monthly, with a mentee for around six months. The researcher sets the agenda according to their own needs, and you agree on actions from each discussion.
