Impact of reading for visually impaired young people

September 2013 to May 2015

LISU and The Reading Agency were commissioned by RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) to find out what reading for pleasure means to blind and partially sighted young people. The project, led by RNIB on behalf of the Children's Response Group, focused on young people aged 11-14 and aimed to explore the difference that reading makes to the lives of young people living with sight loss. The study involved a national survey, group interviews and in-depth case studies of individuals. This study followed an earlier study which considered the impact of reading for visually impaired adults.
