LISU Annual Library Statistics 2006
featuring Trend Analysis of UK Public & Academic Libraries 1995-2005

This long-running series has now been discontinued, due to lack of funding.

It was the most comprehensive set of statistics about libraries and information services in the UK. It gave the most recent figures available for libraries in all sectors, presenting the national picture appropriately broken down to give a useful overview of the then current position, and in many cases how that position was arrived at.

What they said about previous editions:-... one of the best statistical yearbooks on library statistics on the market. New Library World, Vol 107, No 1226/1227, 2006, p359. It ought to be bedtime reading for all librarians wanting to contemplate the situation and possible remedies for it. New Library World, Vol 106, No 1216/1217, 2005, p472. Once again LISU provide an incredibly helpful and informative compendium of statistical information and analysis regarding library services and work in the UK. can become addictive reading. Performance Measurement and Metrics, Vol 7 No 2, 2006, pp116-118
