Outstanding contribution to Enterprise certificate artwork

Enterprise at Loughborough has benefited hugely from the constructive advice and support from a number of people – who freely share their experiences and specialist knowledge to help us develop both strategy and individual projects.

Professor Steve Rothberg and Dr Geoff DuckA special award was launched at the 2012 Enterprise Awards to recognise those who have made a sustained and outstanding contribution, over many years, to the support of Enterprise at Loughborough. Professor Steve Rothberg Pro Vice Chancellor, Enterprise, presented an especially commissioned lapel pin, taken from the University’s coat of arms, to Dr Geoff Duck, in recognition of his invaluable support.

Having graduated from Loughborough with an Electronic and Electrical Engineering Degree in 1975, Geoff embarked on a highly successful entrepreneurial career, with Loughborough Sound Images – which became Blue Wave Systems before being acquired by Motorola. Geoff now directs his own company, LufDuck, and has consistently been a strong supporter of Enterprise at Loughborough.

He was a generous benefactor when Loughborough opened its Innovation Centre in 2001. The Centre has provided vital support to many early stage ventures – and the vision of benefactors such as Geoff has been critical to that success. Geoff has also been a constructive friend to Loughborough Enterprise is many ways including reviewing projects and laboratory visits, to really understand their commercial potential and help the University move projects towards successful commercialisation.
