Loughborough’s Vice-Chancellor meets some of the University’s newest students on A Level results day

Loughborough University’s Vice-Chancellor was at Oadby’s Beauchamp College today (Thursday 16 August) to personally congratulate students who have secured a place to study with us in October.

Hundreds of pupils gathered at the College to collect their A-Level Results, marking the end of two years of hard work.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Bob Allison joined in the celebrations, meeting those who will be coming to Loughborough in a few weeks.

Milan Pankhania was just one of the students to be congratulated by Professor Allison. He said: “I’m so happy to be going to Loughborough. It was great to have the Vice-Chancellor at the College, a real surprise.

“I was able to ask lots of questions about starting University; going to Loughborough is a dream come true for me.”

Professor Allison added: “These students have worked incredibly hard to get these results and secure a place at one of the country’s best universities. I’m delighted to welcome them personally to the Loughborough family and to congratulate them on what they have achieved. They should all feel incredibly proud.”

Sally Wicken, Principal of Beauchamp, added: "Our students have achieved another great set of results despite the extra challenge of more rigorous A Levels. Now we wish them well with the next part of their journey.

“Leicestershire students are fortunate that they have three excellent universities in the county and it's great that Loughborough have spent time with us today seeing what it means to students when they get the results they need.”
