Participants required for study on sedentary behaviour and cardiovascular disease

Researchers at Loughborough University are seeking participants for a new study exploring the link between sedentary behaviour and cardiovascular disease.

Sedentary behaviour is particularly common amongst office workers, who spend the majority of their time at work sitting.

The aim of the SHIFT study is to reduce sitting time and to increase physical activity during working hours amongst office workers.

The study, the third phase of a wider research project, will aim to reduce sitting time during working hours to improve office workers cardiovascular profile.

Participants must be male or female and aged 18 or over with an office based occupation. Other criteria include not being pregnant, and not currently having cardiovascular disease, haemophilia and any blood-borne viruses.

The study is being conducted by PhD Student Veronica Varela Mato, based in the School of Sport, Exercise & Health Sciences.
