Bids invited for University Community Donations Fund

Loughborough University is inviting bids from community groups across Charnwood for the latest round of funding available from its Community Donations Fund.

The University has already made donations of £5,000 from the fund so far this year, for projects educational in nature and the latest round of funding will come from the ‘Open Fund.’  There are no particular requirements for the type of project or groups that will be supported through the Open Fund, although organisations should be Charnwood based and non political in nature.

Last year the University announced an increase in the amount available through the Open Fund from £5,000 to £10,000.  The maximum bid amount has also increased from £500 to £750.

Alison Barlow, Community Relations Officer for the University comments: “We have supported many excellent projects through the Open Fund and look forward to being able to offer some support again this year.  We are delighted to have double the amount of normal funding available for the second year running.”

Bids should be submitted by 19 March 2014.  Further information on the Community Donations Fund and application forms are available by visiting: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/services/community/donations-fund/ or by contacting Alison Barlow, Community Relations Officer at the University: T: 01509 228696 or E: a.j.barlow@lboro.ac.uk
