University seeks to appoint three academic Deans

Loughborough University is looking to appoint Deans for three of its academic Schools – Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering; Arts, English and Drama; and Science.

Deans provide leadership, not only of their Schools but across the University.

“Our Deans are key individuals within the University’s senior management team,” said Professor Chris Linton, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough. “They play a critical role in shaping and delivering the future success of the University as we move through the next phase of our strategic development.”

The new Deans will join one of the UK’s leading universities. Loughborough has an international reputation for world-leading research and innovation and excellence in teaching. It is also the country’s premier university for sport, with an outstanding record of achievement in performance at every level and in sport’s underpinning academic disciplines of exercise and health sciences.

The University has 11 academic Schools, including Loughborough University in London, which will be based on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and accept its first cohort of students in 2015. It will offer postgraduate and executive-level education, as well as research and enterprise opportunities.

The University also has six interdisciplinary Research Challenges, headed by an academic lead, which address global agendas by bringing together aspects of related activity from across the University. There are also over 40 research centres, institutes and groups.

Further information about the roles is available online. The closing date for applications is 12 March 2014.
