Two of the country’s top polar scientists will be sharing footage from their expeditions at the Polar Film Festival at Loughborough University next week (Tuesday 3 September).

BBC Frozen Planet science director Dr Mark Brandon and Professor Martin Siegert - Principal Investigator of the Subglacial Lake Ellsworth experiment, will provide a unique insight into working in the Polar Regions as part of an evening exploring their effect on the UK climate.

They are joined by fellow scientists Dr Peter Abbott (Swansea University) and Alexander Ingle (University of Edinburgh) whose films explore the impact of historical climate changes and give a light-hearted snapshot of life living and working in the field.

All four scientists will take part in a panel discussion immediately following the films.

The Polar Film Festival takes place from 6.30-9pm (films begin at 7pm) on Tuesday 3 September at the Stephenson Lecture Theatre in Loughborough University’s Hollywell Park.
