CommAgility wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Wireless technology firm wins UK’s highest business accolade for export success
CommAgility announced today that it has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s highest accolade for business success. The wireless technology company, based on Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park, received the award for International Trade, in recognition of its success in selling to overseas markets. From 2010 to 2012, CommAgility’s export sales grew by 51%.
Established in 2006, CommAgility designs, manufactures and sells complex electronic products for next generation wireless telecoms, focusing on 4G technology and new standards such as LTE and LTE Advanced. Its boards are based on DSP and FPGA chips, and provide high performance signal processing for wireless infrastructure, test and other demanding applications.
CommAgility’s success is technology led, and is driven by maintaining expertise and continual investment in R&D. The company exports around the world, with customers in over 15 countries including the USA, China, South Korea, India, France and Israel.
Edward Young, managing director at CommAgility, said: “This award is recognition of the hard work of all of CommAgility’s staff, and the expert help provided by our partners and distributors around the world.”
The Queen’s Award adds to CommAgility’s recent success in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. In November 2012, CommAgility was recognised by these awards as the sixth fastest-growing technology company in the UK, with 2656% revenue growth over the previous five years.
Steve Rothberg, Loughborough University’s Pro Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, said: “CommAgility has been supported since its establishment through the University’s Innovation Centre and is part of the University’s 3,500-strong innovation community. We are committed to making a difference in our regional economy and CommAgility is an excellent example of the type of business we can support on our Science and Enterprise Park.”
