What better way to find out about Loughborough University than to hear what our current students from Taiwan have to say...

Jannice Tseng, BSc. Sociology and Criminology, First Year

Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University?

There are a few reasons why I chose Loughborough University as my firm choice. Firstly, Loughborough University is on the top 15 of the Univeristy league table for 2015 and 2016, and has been maintaining its position for the past 4 years. Secondly, we have the best sports facility in all the universities in the UK, and various sports societies for students who have a high passion in sports to join, and for those who are just looking for a casual workout weekly, ‘My Lifestyle’ sports events will be the right place for you to go. Thirdly, according to the times higher education, Loughborough University is ranked 2nd for student experience.

Do you live in on-campus accommodation?

Robert Bakewell Hall is my current accommodation in campus, it is only 2 minutes walking distance from the library, and 10-15 minutes walk to the main department buildings. Bakewell Hall is the newest hall in the Village Park; it is a self-catered and ensuite hall. Self-catered halls allow you to manage your own time whereas catered halls give a specific time for students to have their meal.

What course are you studying and what year are you in?

Bakewell Hall is the newest hall in Village Park, it is a self catered and ensuite hall that you will have your own personal toilet in your room without rushing to shower in the morning worrying a long queue outside the sharing toilet. Moreover, self-catered hall allows you to manage your own time, as catered hall gives a specific time for students to have their meal, which means it might be a hustle for students who may have lectures going on at the time.
