Our current Chinese students

The University has a very active Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) run by our current students that organise events throughout the year such as a welcome reception for newly arrived students, sporting competitions, charity fundraisers and Spring Festival celebrations.  The CSSA are happy to answer questions from prospective students and provide advice based on their experience of studying with us.  For more details on the CSSA please you can visit their Weibo and WeChat accounts; cssalboro.  

Sport

Loughborough was named University of the Year for Sport by The Times Good University Guide 2014. The University was chosen as the official Preparation Camp for Team GB in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Subject areas include Sport Management, Sport Coaching, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, Psychology, Human Biology.

The University has received the highest award of 5* for employability support and success, in the prestigious QS Stars University Ratings 2014.  The Careers and Employability Centre at Loughborough offers specialist support to our students to help achieve their career goals.   This includes holding the UK’s largest campus graduate recruitment and placements fairs each year that are attended by nearly 200 companies that include global blue-chip organisations such as Apple, Merrill Lynch, Coca Cola, PwC, Unilever, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, GSK, Samsung, BMW, IBM and Microsoft.  

Campus and location

The University’s 440 acre single-site green campus, the largest in the UK, offers great facilities for every aspect of student life. It is home to 17,000 students from over 100 countries.  There are plenty of open spaces, gardens and sports areas along with academic buildings, student accommodation, medical centre, theatres, art galleries, cafés and shops.  The campus is safe and the facilities are conveniently accessible by walking, bicycle or via the University bus service. The University is located in the historic and pretty market town of Loughborough, in the southern part of the UK and centre of England, which is around 1 hour 15 minutes from the heart of London by fastest train and just 45 minutes by road from Birmingham, the cities of Nottingham and Leicester are also close by. There is a popular East- Asian restaurant on campus and also a large East-Asian supermarket in the town where students can buy food and ingredients.
