Loughborough’s alumni community is a thriving network of over 155,000 graduates living and working across the globe.
International graduates make up a third of our alumni population and are our best advocates and ambassadors, helping to spread the word about the Loughborough experience and the benefits of obtaining a degree from one of the UK’s foremost universities. Our international graduates go on to successful careers in business, engineering, the media, sport and politics, making an impact worldwide.
International Alumni Groups
To support our international graduates in maintaining links with Loughborough, we have established a network of 32 International ‘Chapters’ (sub-groups) in various locations around the world.
Each Chapter is run by one of our International Ambassadors – a Loughborough graduate who volunteers time and effort to offer the following opportunities for alumni in their home country:
- Development of official membership groups in key cities or regional territories to help graduates grow their professional networks and contacts;
- Delivering an annual programme of social, professional and networking events to allow Loughborough graduates to meet regularly;
- Offering careers and mentoring advice through the international group network;
- Keeping Loughborough graduates up-to-date with opportunities in their own country through the International Chapter’s website, e-communications and social media channels.

The University’s Alumni Association exists to manage the relationship and engagement programme for all our graduates, regardless of where in the world they now live.
Post-graduation all students automatically become a member of the Alumni Association and receive a range of benefits, opportunities and communications free of charge to help them maintain lifelong links to Loughborough.
