WANTED: POST-MENOPAUSAL WOMEN to take part in research study

We are interested to find out whether the structure and function of your blood vessels are altered after engaging in a short session of walking. We would also like to learn whether the consumption of folic acid (a nutrient found naturally in many fruits and vegetables) favourably influences your blood vessels. Findings from this research could identify strategies that help to reduce the risk of developing heart disease as we get older.

We are looking for post-menopausal women to take part in our study, who meet the following criteria:
• Aged 50-60 years
• Non-smokers
• No known cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or other chronic diseases
• No medications

Time commitment:
• 3 visits to the laboratory over a two-month period

Measurements to be taken include:
• Blood samples
• Blood pressure
• Resting ECG
• 10-year cardiovascular disease risk score
• Non-invasive measurements looking at the structure and function of your blood vessels

Please get in touch via email if you would like more information about taking part:
