• Practise some elements of an assessment centre with Careers Network and recruiters
• Have a go at the types of interview questions you may encounter
• Experience a group activity

This workshop is for students from all years in SBE, SocSci, SSEHS, LDS, AED Departments.

Careers In Marketing
This evening event is for students aspiring to a career in Marketing and is open to all degree disciplines and year groups. Come and learn what it takes to succeed in this competitive but rewarding industry.
This is an opportunity to:
• Explore what a career in Marketing actually means and gain an understanding of the wide range of roles within the industry.
• Learn from industry experts and find out what skills and qualities employers are looking for when recruiting for Marketing roles.
• Network with employers and ask questions that matter to you.
• Gain top tips on how to stand out from your peers during the selection process.

Prepare for the Fair – Presentation
The Autumn Fair is the University's flagship employer event.

But how can you ensure you get the most out of your fair experience?
This informal session will give you the opportunity to find out:
• How to prepare for the fair – what to wear, what to say, CV or not to CV, utilising social media
• What you can do on the day to maximise your opportunities to network and make contact with employers
• What you do afterwards to capitalise on the contacts you’ve made and the experience you’ve had

Please note the fair is open to all students and approx. two thirds of employers at the fair will be open to recruiting students from any course of study.

Find out how to structure and present your skills and achievements to create a powerful CV and covering letter that will impress employers.

Making the Most of your Masters – Postgraduate Students Only
Your master’s degree will be a busy and intense experience. We want to help you to make the most of the year that you will spend with us.
An important part of that is thinking about the impact your masters will have on your career development.
In this session we will:
• Review skills and experiences gained through PGT study
• Discuss the timeline for applications and events in your PGT year
• Look at effective ways of communicating your PGT experience for employers on your CV/LinkedIn and applications
• Discuss job search options
• Look at your next steps and what support is available to you through Careers Network.
